Detailed Description

How a recording algorithm uses the records it finds: not what to compute, but what already-recorded work counts as done.

Its own struct, rather than a field of one algorithm's config, because the question is the same for every algorithm that records paths. Transient, like a thread count: nothing here is part of any configuration's identity or digest.
